Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacqueline McGee.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Little Sprouts Preschool vision was given to me over ten years ago. I’ve always dreamed of owning my own school. I wrote the exact name of the school, mission, and audience I wanted to serve down on a notepad.
I took the leap of faith and left my teaching job in May 2017. LSP accepted the first student including my two-year-old son August 2017. As I enter my fifth year as an entrepreneur, I’m overjoyed to be living my dream every day!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
There are many challenges that have come along with living this dream of entrepreneurship. Over the last five years, especially during the pandemic enrollment was up and down.
The childcare industry faced a lot of challenges due to so many families losing jobs and couldn’t afford to pay for childcare. Some of the government assistance programs for childcare providers really help to keep businesses afloat during these struggles.
I’m grateful for being able to continue with this business and see things come back for the betterment of all.
As you know, we’re big fans of Little Sprouts Preschool. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Little Sprouts Preschool is a family childcare program that services children ages three to five years of age.
Our program is designed to lay the foundation for young learners who love to grow with educational adventures. My goal is to create fun and adventurous lessons and excursions for the scholars each day!
Little Sprouts Preschool gives young scholars an introduction to learning through creative writing and creative play. The curriculum incorporates academics through creativity, music, and gross motor play.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
I love the Teacher Pay Teachers (TPT) app and educational blogs. I also love Tabitha Brown’s blogs, and Tony Gaskins (Life Coach) both of these give me daily motivation and drive to give my absolute best. My favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13.
