Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaden Malone.
Hi Jaden, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Jaden Kamarius Malone. I am a 16-year-old entrepreneur. I have my own clothing brand called Adequate Daze which specializes in dropping unisex streetwear. With my mom being a Cosmetologist and my dad being an Artist, I have always been very creative. I first started getting into fashion when I was 14 making custom jeans. Many people around the city were asking me to do customs for them. I had hundreds of customers but eventually, I got bored with it and started working on my official brand. I started to brainstorm many names which included Syven, The Kulture, Open Mind, Kamari, & many more. The name Adequate Daze was the one. I wanted to name my brand something that was unique and that I’d never heard before.
After I came up with the name I begin to stack my checks from the job I was working at the time. I noted everything that I would need and how much it cost. I ordered my inventory, got my logo made, got my announcement promo made, and begin to tell all my friends and family about my new business. Once I got everything I needed for my business I quit my job and begin planning the rollout for my launch day. I teased my brand on my social media to get my potential customers ready and tuned in to what I had coming. On 2/22/22, I announced my brand. My announcement received a lot of love and it motivated me to come very hard with my launch. 2 months later on 4/16/22, I launched my brand. My 1st drop did amazing and sold out in only 2 days. Ever since my launch, I have vowed to continue to drop products my customers will love.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The biggest challenge I face is coming up with new products. I try to make sure everything is original and that every product is something you haven’t seen. I actually had a beanie that was going to drop this month but the letters looked like another brand that’s really known for their beanie design so I fully scrapped it out of respect for myself and their hard work.
You have to really sit in your room and create with no distractions. I come up with everything myself, from my announcements, my rollouts, my promo strategies, and the actual product. Of course, I have inspiration but I never copy anyone and that is the hardest part.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am most proud of my new collection “No Bad Daze”. The collection was a huge success for me and ushered in hundreds of new customers. With this collection, I was able to sell out of the country, with customers from the UK and Canada. Another thing I am most proud of is the new book that I have been working on. The book tells my full story and will give readers a full in-depth guide on how I did my business and how they can too. I’m waiting to release it because I want it to reach a big audience and I feel like I really want my business to grow a lot more first.
So when I get a little bigger I’ll release it. Also, it’ll have some other young entrepreneurs in it that I’m sure the readers will be familiar with. they’ll be telling their perspective on growing their businesses at a young age. What I want the readers to know is that this is only the beginning. I see this business being so big one day and I know it will happen.
This business will grow to be more than just a brand, it will be an experience and I hope you all stay tuned so you can witness it.
Who else deserves credit for your story?
My brother and my mom deserve all the credit. I have watched my mom work multiple jobs while being a single mom and still make ends meet. My brother is the definition of JUST DO IT. When he puts his mind to it, he makes it happen. They inspire me every day to keep going and never give up
