Hi Marcus, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Catch the Fade studios is a barber studio that I, Marcus Ross, started in 2017 based out of Cordova, TN. Before I enrolled in a barber academy, I had no skills prior to starting. I went into this field as an outlet from the military. I went to school in California and started my business in Tennessee. You may ask, why go to school in California and start a business in Tennessee?
Well, It was a transitional phase in my life and it was the most accommodating way to provide for my children. Being a father really pushes me to be the best version of myself. Understanding that nothing in life comes easy and that we must work hard to provide for the ones we love. I take pride in my brand because it is my legacy. Currently Erin, manages my business social media and keeps my content up-to-date.
Starting this business meant that I had the freedom to provide clients with top-tier services, create art, and live the life I aspire to live by “being my own boss.” I have been barbering now for seven years. My vision for each client is to bring a new set of confidence with each service I provide.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
With every business comes its challenges. Before even starting my business, I was faced with the challenge of not being able to work a job due to the time commitment of being in school, starting my own business was something I had already decided I wanted to do.
As we know, the cost of living could be quite expensive in Cali so I moved back to TN to more affordable homes and more affordable spaces to start my studio. Lastly COVID. Who predicts a global pandemic in their business plan? My business surviving the pandemic is a testimony in itself.

Catch the Fade Studios is a barber studio located in Cordova, TN. We strive to “Create confidence one cut at a time.” I love to create art with each client that sits in my chair. I especially enjoy the smiles and joy clients exude once they glance in the mirror.
I take pride in my work each time I pick up clippers. I am able to provide an experience for each client that walks through the door. Catch the Fade studios is able to serve you with haircuts, kid cuts, beard trims, designs, and much more!
