Today we’d like to introduce you to Ninja Walker.
Hi Ninja, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Let’s see..where do I start? I always knew that I wanted to be a professional. I started off working towards law school but got rerouted to the beauty industry. As I went through college, industry-related training classes, and becoming a mother, I saw that becoming an entrepreneur was exactly what I wanted and what best fit the lifestyle I wanted for me and my children.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has definitely been rough but completely worth it. Being a single mother while building a business without access to funding outside of my personal savings has contributed to some of the struggles along the way. Also, losing one of the closest people to me; one of my biggest supporters (my grandmother) has been really hard too.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
NV Cosmetics is an aesthetic brand that birthed Spa NV, where professional spa services, such as waxing, skin care treatments, lash services, and training/continuing education classes are performed. Spa NV has recently been rebranded to The Aesthetic Collective, where spa services are still performed and classes are still taught, but consumers are now also able to purchase lifestyle and wellness products to create and maintain a healthy, blissful balance. I am also co-owner of Da Zone Nutrition, serving meal replacement smoothies, b12 energy drinks, protein baked goods, and more. Our nutrition bar focuses on weight management, immune support and inner wellness.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Some of my favorite childhood memories are traveling and gardening with my grandparents. My grandparents took us on road trips all of the time. We have driven as far as Canada to visit Niagara Falls. I loved seeing new places and meeting new people along the way. We would stop and visit old friends of theirs in different towns throughout the south. It was awesome! I also loved being outside while my grandfather tending to crops. My grandmother was big on cooking with those crops. She also loved taking care of houseplants; something I’ve also realized I love!
