Inspiring Conversations with Takoria Williams of Treatsby Tee Ashunte

Today we’d like to introduce you to Takoria Williams.

Takoria, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve been cooking ever since I was about seven years old. I quickly found that my favorite hobby was baking! I use baking as a stress reliever, but people always told me that I should start a business. I decided to step off letting overthinking affect my goals, and go for it! This was also a good idea because it helps me earn money while in college.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Actually, since I’ve started, it hasn’t been too bad. Of course with every business, you’ll have good days and bad days, but I’m pretty satisfied. Before I started, my anxiety definitely got the best of me. I was afraid that my business wasn’t going to be successful. My advice to you is, to stop focusing on “what could go wrong” and focus on “what could go right”.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business is basically a baking business. I’m best known for my Strawberry Lemonade cupcakes. The thing that sets me apart from everyone else is my professionalism and my delicious homemade icing.

I’m currently home-based, but I’m working hard on moving into a space and expanding my business. I’m most proud of how much positive feedback I get!

What makes you happy?
Seeing other people happy, makes me happy, literally! Rather it’s because I’ve given someone advice, done a kind gesture, or baked up a tasty treat, if you’re smiling and happy, it excites me.
