Inspiring Conversations with Tierra London of Silence No More

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tierra London

Hi Tierra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As far as I can remember, I’ve always been pretty shy and timid. Naturally I’ve always had the ability to draw people with my kind heart and personality. Growing up I had dreams of being an actress, then a lawyer, a teacher, and obstetrician. I’ve always been a very curious kid with a vivid imagination. Life started happening and I quickly begin to understand that you must adapt to the pivot. It was 2013 I was working as a Pre-K teacher, living with my big sister and nieces making $525 every two weeks. Pretty frustrating with the career that I never chose and over it at the time, we had a revival at my church. The special guest called me out and begun to declare some things over my life about who I would ultimately become today. I had no tangible evidence of becoming a young woman in ministry, who would curate a non-profit and ministry that would change lives one day, not at that time. God had a planned as I share my story today, I’m walking in it.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. I’ve had a lot of bumps along the way. I wholeheartedly think they are necessary for your growth and development. I would not be grounded and humble. I would not know God the way I do. I wouldn’t be as compassionate as I am if it were not for the challenges and obstacles that I’ve faced. Nowwwww, honestly I didn’t always view obstacles as a positive thing. My lens has not always been healthy. But, with God, family, mentors, wise counsel, and growth I embrace challenge. It helps you as you evolve in life, even the more. When things don’t always go how I envision, I know deep down it’s because God is doing something on the inside of me. It all points back to faith and trust in our Heavenly Father. I’ve failed at things that I tried on my own. I’ve had relational hurt. I’ve experienced setbacks in pursuit of my purpose but it has made me a much better person.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Silence No More?
Silence No More was birthed in 2018. I didn’t think that we would still be here today. It was an idea that I had at the time but had no clue that it would produce a ministry, conferences, bible studies, a community for women, and a non-profit. SNM is known for creating a safe space for women to grow in community, intimacy with God, deeper than understanding in the word of God, and teaching women how to walk in their purpose. I think the consistency sets it apart and the purity of it altogether. SNM has built a family and it’s forever growing. I give God all the glory for it. I’m most proud of the impact. The testimonies I receive help me to keep serving and showing up. I want readers to know that whether you’re in Memphis or not, you can be apart of SNM. We desire to reach the nation and then the nations. I strongly believe that the growth of the women is impeccable. They inspire me every single day.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Go with the shift. When you’re just starting out, rough patches are necessary. It won’t be beautiful and a bed of roses in the beginning. It won’t be. It’s unrealistic to think that starting out, you’re going to wake up and live out the end goal. It’s a tedious journey that will come with tears. You’ll experience heartache. You will want to quit. If I’m being honest, if you’re not rooted in God, it won’t work. There’s ebbs and flows. There’s glorious moments and painful ones. There’s time if celebration and warfare. You won’t always end up with the people that started the journey with you. Whatever sphere of influence you find yourself end; keep the end goal in mind every single day. Remember, take it one day at a time. On hard days I lean on Romans 8:28. I also remember that I have help. More importantly, be kind with yourself through the process. It will all work out.
