Today we’d like to introduce you to Traci S. Campbell.
Hi Traci, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I started with a career in information technology. I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer technology. I traveled quite a bit early in my career and at the same time, I became a caregiver to my mother at the age of 24. I would eventually lose her to heart disease in 2007. I authored The C.H.A.M.P. Within book and work program in 2009. (This program went on to help over 800 young people and adults in the US and Nairobi, Kenya).
Nonprofit work that led to the creation of two 501 C3 organizations: The C.H.A.M.P. Community Project and The BIBO Foundation (https://thebibofoundation.org). And later I pursued media-related projects in podcasting, AM/FM radio, and now a brand-new streaming network that we recently launched on Roku called BeSpire TV.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being a young African American woman starting her career in information technology in a corporate, male-dominated environment was not easy and it still has many challenges.
I’ve benefited from mentors who saw within me a talent that should be nurtured and supported. In addition to that, caring for a parent dealing with heart disease and depression while trying to build a career and have a social life as a young woman were added challenges.
However, I was able to forge a successful career that allowed me to care for my mother properly. These early challenges fortified me to move on to develop platforms that help other disadvantaged young women, single parents, and small business owners.
We’ve been impressed with BIBO Worldwide and The BIBO Foundation, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the CEO of BIBO Worldwide, LLC.
This business develops media projects and platforms and offers affordable promotions to small businesses. I am also the founder of the BIBO Foundation which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that helps disadvantaged young women through support via mentorship and, in 2024, the introduction of scholarships as well.
In 2022, we launched a brand-new free Roku and Amazon Fire TV streaming network called BeSpire TV.
Our motto is: “Be Informed. Be Entertained. Be Inspired.” This platform showcases original shows as well as TV movies, retro TV series, classic movies, music videos, cartoons, family shows, and more!
We are very proud of the BIBO (Beauty In /Beauty Out) brand, and all of the related projects related to BIBO that celebrate female excellence. And we are VERY proud of our new media platform, BeSpire TV.
All these platforms have a few VERY important things in common: To provide information in an entertaining way and at the same time offer support to disadvantaged communities and small businesses; to bring awareness to people and projects that otherwise do not get the attention they deserve because they cannot afford a big marketing budget or a dedicated public relations team.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
We strongly encourage people to reach out to us directly. We are always looking for great original content. We have opportunities to donate to our non-profit and volunteer your time and talents to help the next generation of young entrepreneurial women.
