Today we’d like to introduce you to Yolanda Crump.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey into building YJCRUMP Solutions is rooted in both professional experience and personal transformation.
I spent over 20 years working for the IRS, where I gained an in-depth understanding of tax law, compliance, audits, and collections. During that time, I saw firsthand how many taxpayers were overwhelmed, misinformed, and often afraid of the system. I also saw how a lack of proper guidance could lead to serious financial consequences for individuals and business owners.
While I had a stable six-figure career, I felt a deeper calling to do more than just enforce the rules—I wanted to be an advocate and a bridge between the IRS and the people.
So, I made the decision to step away from my position and build my own firm.
YJCRUMP Solutions was created to help people get back into compliance, understand their responsibilities, and most importantly—feel empowered instead of afraid.
My approach is different because I don’t just prepare tax returns—I educate, strategize, and represent my clients. Whether it’s resolving back taxes, audits, penalties, or helping business owners structure their companies properly, I operate as their voice and their advocate.
But my journey isn’t just professional—it’s deeply personal.
I come from a background where I had to overcome adversity early in life. I became a teenage mother, navigated life without a traditional support system, and had to build everything from the ground up. That experience shaped my resilience, my work ethic, and my passion for helping others who may feel stuck or overwhelmed.
Today, I stand as both a tax professional and a life strategist.
Through YJCRUMP Solutions, I help clients clean up financial situations and build a solid foundation. Through my broader brand and speaking, I focus on mindset, accountability, and helping people break free from fear, doubt, and insecurity.
Where I am today is the result of combining knowledge, experience, and purpose.
I’ve transitioned from working inside the system to standing beside the people—educating them, advocating for them, and helping them move forward with confidence.
And this is just the beginning.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth road—and I think that’s what makes my journey real.
Walking away from a stable six-figure career with the IRS to become a full-time entrepreneur was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made. I went from security to uncertainty overnight. There were moments where I questioned myself—wondering if I made the right decision, especially when income wasn’t consistent in the beginning.
Building a business from the ground up comes with a lot of unseen challenges. I had to learn how to market myself, build systems, attract clients, and manage everything without a safety net. There were times I felt overwhelmed wearing so many hats—accountant, marketer, business owner, and problem-solver—all at once.
Another challenge was shifting people’s perception. Many people are used to transactional tax preparers, but my approach is rooted in education, compliance, and long-term strategy. Helping clients understand the value of doing things the right way versus just chasing refunds has been a journey in itself.
On a personal level, I’ve also had to overcome mindset barriers—fear, doubt, and the pressure of being fully responsible for my livelihood. When you don’t have a fallback, you have to build a different level of discipline and belief in yourself.
But every struggle shaped me.
Those experiences taught me resilience, sharpened my skills, and strengthened my purpose. They also deepened my passion for helping others—because I understand what it feels like to navigate uncertainty and still keep going.
Today, I don’t see the road as “hard”—I see it as refining. Every obstacle pushed me closer to becoming the person and professional I’m called to be.
We’ve been impressed with YJCRUMP Solutions , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
YJCRUMP Solutions is more than a tax firm—it’s a problem-solving, advocacy-based business built to help individuals and business owners get back in compliance, gain clarity, and move forward with confidence.
At the core, we specialize in tax resolution and compliance. That includes helping clients who owe the IRS, have unfiled returns, are under audit, or are facing collections such as garnishments and levies. With my background as a former IRS Agent and Enrolled Agent, I understand both sides of the system—how the IRS operates and how to effectively represent and protect the taxpayer.
But what truly sets us apart is that we don’t just “file taxes”—we advocate, educate, and strategize.
We handle:
Tax preparation for individuals and businesses
IRS representation (audits, collections, penalty abatement, installment agreements, Offer in Compromise)
Tax planning and business structuring
Bookkeeping cleanup and financial organization
Compliance reviews for business owners who may not fully understand their current tax position
In addition to tax services, I also operate as a Private Process Server, which aligns with my investigative background. This allows me to support legal processes with professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail—another layer of service rooted in accountability and proper procedure.
What I am most known for is being “the cleanup woman.”
Clients come to me when things have gone wrong—when returns were filed incorrectly, when they owe large balances, or when they simply don’t know where they stand. I step in, assess the situation, and create a clear path forward. I’m not here to judge—I’m here to fix, educate, and protect.
What sets YJCRUMP Solutions apart is my experience, integrity, and approach.
I spent over 20 years inside the IRS. I know what compliance looks like, and I operate with that same level of accountability in my practice. My philosophy is simple: If you can’t defend a tax return, don’t file it.
I focus on doing things the right way—not just getting a refund, but ensuring my clients are positioned correctly long-term.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the trust I’ve built and the impact I’ve made.
I’ve helped clients eliminate significant penalties, resolve stressful tax situations, and regain peace of mind. But beyond that, I’ve helped people understand their responsibilities and take control of their financial lives.
What I want readers to know is this:
YJCRUMP Solutions is not just a service—it’s a partnership.
Whether you’re behind, confused, or facing the IRS, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I stand as your voice, your advocate, and your guide—making sure you understand the process while protecting your best interests every step of the way.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The most important quality behind my success is integrity.
Everything I do—personally and professionally—is rooted in doing what’s right, even when it’s not easy. In my line of work, people are trusting me with their finances, their businesses, and often some of the most stressful situations of their lives. Integrity ensures that I handle that responsibility with honesty, transparency, and accountability.
My background as a former IRS Agent trained me to understand the importance of compliance and accuracy, but my personal journey taught me the importance of character. I don’t cut corners, and I don’t tell clients what they want to hear—I tell them what they need to hear to be protected and positioned correctly.
Alongside integrity, resilience has been a major factor.
My path hasn’t been traditional or easy. I’ve had to push through uncertainty, build from the ground up, and stay consistent even when results weren’t immediate. That resilience allows me to show up for my clients with confidence, no matter how complex their situation may be.
At the end of the day, my success comes from standing on truth.
Truth in my work, truth in my message, and truth in how I show up for others. Because when you operate in integrity, you don’t just build a business—you build trust, and that’s what sustains long-term success.
