Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi, I am Bidisha Sinha (people call me “Mermaid Bidisha” on social media). I am IT Analyst by profession, Youtuber, a PR/Digital Marketer at Detroit Indian Women’s Association 501 (c)(3), and a Feminist!
I believe that life is short so I try my best to live every moment! I have always been passionate about creativity; so be it blogging, vlogging or sharing lifestyle stories, I have always been enthusiastic about making life more interesting and of course, a little less mundane!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing comes easy unless you focus and work hard. But make sure you work smart too and choose reliable people in your team or circle to support you. What social media seemed like a decade back is completely different from what it is now.
So before venturing into anything, one must find their niche and the pain points of users or followers they are looking to target as their audience. Based on that, strategize what you would want to deliver to the potential clients. And, BE CONSISTENT!

I am an IT analyst by profession. But 9 to 5 job represents just 50% of who I am. The rest is MERMAID BIDISHA. I am very passionate about business delivery and business continuity.
So I always keep a habit of learning new things to stay relevant. Because if you are not relevant, you cannot reinvent yourself. It’s my mantra in life to take challenges that come my way and learn through the experiences.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
To me, risk-taking is synonymous with challenging yourself, which I do time and time again. The learning experience is what fuels my next set of goals to move ahead in life. I definitely love taking risks through which I believe I keep evolving.
