Life & Work with DesJambreya (Bri) Butler

Today we’d like to introduce you to DesJambreya (Bri) Butler.

DesJambreya (Bri) Butler

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born and raised in the small town of Prentiss, MS. My photography journey began while I was in high school, but I didn’t take it seriously until I went to Tougaloo College.

While at Tougaloo, I majored in Mass Communications emphasizing TV Broadcasting and Advertising. I spent most of my time on campus filming or editing a video. My professors always pushed us to think outside the box with every assignment. I love being able to bring my ideas to life and make people feel and look their best!

After graduating, I decided it was time to take my business seriously that was when I made the transition from Screen Queen to 601KRE8TIVE®. I have worked with some great clients the past few years, and learned a lot from some of them along the way!

I am the Founder of Classroom Kids Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides teachers and students in underprivileged areas with school supplies. Our goal is to help ensure that students receive a high quality education. We are currently based in Mississippi, but we are open to helping as many people as we can no matter the location.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not been smooth. Being in the media industry is very EXPENSIVE, lol (to say the least). It’s also always something new to learn. There are some long late nights and early mornings too.

Some weeks, I will be booked and busy, and some weeks I may not even get an inquiry. Every week, I show up no matter how many clients I have booked. It has been a humbling experience, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Lifestyle and Brand photographer and videographer. I have recently begun offering VIP Content Day services, where I go to different businesses and create at least 30 days’ worth of content for them in one day. The content comes in the form of reels, photos, and graphic designs!

I am most proud of stepping outside of my box and pursuing my passion. I trusted my gut and left my 9-5 to be a full-time entrepreneur, which was a HUGEEEE step.

I like to treat all of my clients like family, and I will go above and beyond to make sure they receive top-tier service from me. I try my best to over-deliver. I am also proud of the way I can create a story from just one photo or one video.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is traveling to Disney World with some of my family! I am such a big kid at heart, and I had such an amazingggg time.

Disney is an all-time favorite for me, their creativity is top-tier. I even had dreams of becoming a photographer at Disney once upon a time, lol.
