Today we’d like to introduce you to Desmond Brown.
Hi Desmond, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, how can you bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Two years ago, I started with a camera to take better videos of my dancing, which led me to take pictures and post them. To my surprise, people liked my work. From there, I studied, invested, and began perfecting my craft.
We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Taking pictures is easy. It’s sitting in front of the computer looking for imperfections, deciding what to keep, then going through and editing many pictures. It’s been a journey. It’s easy shooting and coming up with out-of-the-box ideas. The hard part is getting people to see the worth of actually booking. I stand by my work 100%. I wish people understood the work after the pictures were taken.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a photographer, more so a creative location shooter. I like to put a model in place, be it a warehouse, skate park, field, or whatever it may be, and turn it into art. I love those shoots. I also specialize in portraits and boudoir photography. What sets me aside from others is that I’m also proudest of my creative mind, work ethic, dedication/love/passion, and a 24hr turnaround time. I want to see my photos immediately, so why make them work? Often I will sleep when the job is done.
We all have different ways of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success for me has been defined in two ways. It is when I accomplish what I set out to do when I shoot, which is to work at my best possible quality. Two is when my passion is my job, which can pay the bill. I’d love to be in a place where I can set my hours and wake up every day to do what I love.

- Portraits start at $350 and includes one hour, one location, as well as 50-100 pictures with a 24-48hr turn around
- Custom packages can start as little as $100 with 30mins 24-48hr turn around
- Boudoir packages start at $450 include 2hrs to work and make sure we capture the moment the right way with 24-48hrs turn around
