Today we’d like to introduce you to O’ryan Simon.
Hi O’ryan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am an Artist based out of Memphis, TN I go by the name “NVOTHECHOSEN” and I am 21 years old. My name “NVO” simply means November it’s the month that I was born and “the Chosen” is pretty much short for the “Chosen One” I believe whatever I go after or pursue in life I’m destined for greatness…I’m determined to do big things.
I began making music in late 2022. Just a random day in my bedroom. Playing with different sounds and making beats in GarageBand off my phone and just let some of my good friends in our group hear and critique along with giving me tips with the sessions that I was piecing together.
Later down the road, I would begin to practice adding words and rhyme schemes to those beats which began the start of my music journey. In Aug. 2022, I released my very first song “Had no Fun” and in Jan. 2023 and Aug. 2023 I released my first two tapes “The Saga” and “Ryan”.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This road has been full of ups and downs but that’s a part of life as we know it, I think the biggest struggle for me besides lacking the inspiration to create sometimes, in my opinion, was worrying too much about the results in general at times simply just forgetting my purpose.
What I was doing all this for or what I would say was “my why” and also just letting the world get to see this authentic version of myself that it has never seen before which is still a somewhat uncomfortable process for me but as I slowly adjust it has all began to feel second nature to me.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an upcoming recording artist I like to sing and rap. I’m most proud of the fact that I have some great role models along with mentors who give me good advice and that I can learn from their experiences.
I feel what sets me apart from others is my determination, my drive, and my resiliency. When it comes to music, I think I’m most known for my catchy hooks and melodic flows I also do a little bit of producing as well.
What’s next?
I would say just continuing to grow and evolve both as an artist and a human I look forward to all these new vibes coming soon from both me and my group of friends.
My plan for the future is to be in an entirely new position compared to where I’m at right now just taking everything one step at a time.
