Life & Work with Sam Sikes of Memphis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sam Sikes.

Hi Sam, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My love for photography and videography started at a very young age — so young, I honestly can’t remember a time when I wasn’t fascinated by it.

At 14 and 15 years old, after working landscaping jobs and a local farm in Byhalia, MS, I decided it was time to invest in the thing I loved most. I bought my first camera. Every spare second I had was spent photographing, filming, and learning to edit. I wanted to tell stories that moved people.

A few months later, word got around that “this Sam kid” had a knack for capturing moments. At just 15, I filmed my first wedding. Apparently, I did something right — one wedding turned into two, two into four, and before I knew it, I had a small business that made 15- and 16-year-old me proud.

I immediately fell in love with the intensity of weddings — the fast-paced day that scared off many creatives was exactly where I thrived. I realized the power I held: to capture, direct, and build upon the emotion of one of the greatest days of someone’s life.

In 2021, at 19 years old, I went full-time. I poured everything into becoming one of the best wedding photographers in the Mid-South.
It couldn’t just be about the photos — it had to be about the experience. The care. The willingness to serve.

My business quickly grew — not just because of the art we delivered, but because of how we made people feel.
Everyone mattered — the vendors, the mothers, the fathers, the guests, even the extended family. Everyone was served.

Fast forward four years later — my team has grown, and we’ve become one of the most sought-after wedding teams in the Mid-South and beyond.

What started as a teenage passion has become a life’s work of service, storytelling, and celebration
