Life & Work with Stormy Jones of Cordova

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stormy Jones.

Hi Stormy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am a licensed professional cosmetologist or 13 years, a licensed tattoo artist as well as a certified hair replacement specialist. I own and operate Hello Gorgeous Beauty Boutique–a beauty safe haven for women who are experiencing hair loss. I am also the founder and executive director of the Gift of Hair Foundation–a non-profit that works to empower women and help restore confidence through free to low cost hair replacement services, emotional support, and education. Specializing in non-surgical hair replacement and scalp micro pigmentation (SMP) for the past four years, I have been able to help transform the appearance of countless men and women that have faced hair loss due to cancer, alopecia, and other medical conditions.

My journey into hair restoration began with a desire to do more than enhance outward beauty–I wanted to restore confidence and dignity to those struggling with hair loss. Witnessing the emotional toll it takes on a woman’s self esteem, I became dedication to creating a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment for women in need.

Recognizing both the financial and emotional burdens of hair loss, I founded the Gift of Hair Foundation to provide quality wigs, hairpieces, and scalp solutions at little to no cost. As executive director, I am working to expand the foundations reach and garner community support while ensuring that the individuals we support get the resources they deserve.

Beyond my expertise, I am compassionate about the holistic healing and understand that hair restoration is not just a cosmetic change–it’s a life changing experience that impacts mental and emotional well-being, My goal is to make a lasting impact, ensuring that every woman facing hair loss has access to the resources she needs to feel beautiful, confident, and whole.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This journey has been anything but easy. Watching women suffer in silence as they lose their hair—often a deeply personal and painful experience—has weighed heavily on my heart. The demand for support is great.

There have been moments when the vision felt bigger than the means, when I questioned whether I could continue pushing forward. Navigating the nonprofit world as a small, community-focused organization has meant wearing multiple hats—founder, director, advocate, fundraiser, and sometimes even therapist, while also still taking clients in the salon.

What makes it difficult is knowing how desperately these women need help and not always having the capacity to service them all in a timely manner.

But despite the setbacks, every smile, every tear of joy, and every “thank you” reminds me why this fight is worth it. The difficulty of this journey has only deepened my commitment and my belief in the healing power of confidence and compassion.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As a licensed cosmetologist and certified hair replacement specialist, I’ve dedicated over 13 years to helping women look and feel like the best version of themselves. Through my salon, I provide compassionate, expert-level care specializing in non-surgical hair replacement solutions—including custom wigs, hairpieces, and scalp micro pigmentation. Every appointment is an opportunity to restore more than just hair—it’s a chance to rebuild confidence.

In 2024, I founded The Gift of Hair Foundation, a nonprofit born out of the deep need I witnessed daily: women, especially those battling cancer or alopecia, struggling not just with hair loss but with access to affordable solutions. The foundation provides high-quality wigs, educational resources, and emotional support—often at no cost to the women we serve. It’s more than a service; it’s a sisterhood of strength.

Alongside the salon and nonprofit, I developed a specialized product line called Follicle Bloom, tailored to women with hair loss. From gentle cleansers to scalp-nourishing leave in conditioners, each item is formulated to promote a healthy balance between the hair and scalp.

What I’m most proud of is creating multiple avenues of support—from beauty services to free wigs to innovative products. The impact isn’t just seen in makeovers—it’s felt in every restored smile, every moment of renewed confidence, and every woman who walks away knowing she is seen, supported, and still beautiful.

What makes you happy?
Helping others makes me happy. To see how small acts of kindness can make a big impact warms my hurt. Helping others helps extend my gratitude for life.
