Today we’d like to introduce you to Amari Kimble.
Hi Amari, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Dr. Amari Kimble DC, MS, CCSP, DABCA is an accomplished and skilled Chiropractor from Memphis, TN. She is the owner and practitioner of Taylor Chiropractic and Wellness.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Spanish from Mississippi State University, and went on to complete her Doctorate of Chiropractic and Masters of Sports Science and Rehabilitation at Logan University in St. Louis, MO. Soon after, she completed the Diplomat Acupuncture program at Logan University and is now a Certified Chiropractic Acupuncturist.
She also treats the athletes at LeMoyne-Owen College as an independent chiropractic contractor. In addition, she hosts yearly community events to educate the population on nutrition and healthy habits.
The Logan University graduate offers excellent communication and public speaking skills. She has presented at several events, including her own. She is honored to be an Adjunct Professor at Baptist Health Sciences University helping students learn anatomy and physiology with real clinical experience.
In her free time she enjoys running, playing tennis and salsa dancing.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Though it has changed over the past few years, there is a lot of misinformation about the Chiropractic profession. This often makes it difficult when starting a business. Also, I chose to have a practice where I do not participate with insurance companies. This allows me to spend more time with each patient and create a unique and individualized treatment plan for each person. Some find it hard to see a practitioner that does not accept insurance and this impedes business in the beginning. However, when you use insurance, that is the service that you will receive, and sometimes it is not what you want or need to truly resolve your conditions.
As you know, we’re big fans of Taylor Chiropractic and Wellness. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a holistic practitioner. Meaning, I look at the patient as a whole, and try to find the root cause of their injuries and conditions, not just treat the symptoms. I do chiropractic adjustments, myofascial release, acupuncture, and whole food nutritional supplements. I specialize in treating athletes, however I treat the whole family starting at 5 years old. I am known for the myofascial release technique that I use. And what sets me apart from other chiropractors is my holistic approach with lifestyle changes. I always seek to find what things we can change to keep your injury from reoccurring, but also how to live a longer healthier quality of life. I love to help my patients find longevity. I also give nutritional presentations at events, schools, colleges, and churches. I do my own community events with speakers from all over the country. I treat the athletes at LeMoyne Owen College, I coach track at Hutchison and I teach anatomy and physiology labs at Baptist Health Sciences University.
I am most proud of how I am able to help patients find the doctor inside of themselves. I believe everyone has a doctor inside that needs to be nurtured and activated. The doctor inside of you is more powerful and preventative than any healthcare professional. I am proud that I can help my patients learn how to treat themselves and prevent injury and disease.
I want people to know that I am passionate about helping the community live full, well rounded, healthy, and active lives. I believe in looking at a person and their injury or condition as a whole and finding ways to resolve their problems not just mask them.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Finding balance is most important to success. As well as staying humble. Allowing yourself to learn more and have fun with the process. The American culture is often based on individualism and work. I believe if you can find some balance between work and life, that is true success. Allowing self-care and fun to be a priority in your life in the same way that work is a priority brings longevity. Then, when you show up to work, you can bring your full self and give patients what they truly need to heal.
