Hi Ariel, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey in healthcare began with education and a desire to build a meaningful career that could make an impact. In May 2015, I graduated with my Associate Degree in Healthcare Administration of Medical Records, which gave me my first formal foundation in understanding the structure, compliance, and responsibility behind patient information and care. That same year, I began working as a Health Information Management General Clerk, where I was able to apply what I had learned and gain real-world experience within the healthcare system. In October 2017, I continued my educational journey and earned my Associate Degree in Health Information Technology, further strengthening my knowledge of healthcare operations, compliance, and patient data management.
In late 2016, I transitioned into an Insurance Billing Specialist position, where I spent nearly a decade, continuing into early 2026. During those years, I gained extensive knowledge of the healthcare system, insurance processes, and the critical importance of accuracy and patient advocacy. Those experiences shaped my professionalism and gave me the confidence to grow—but they also helped me realize I wanted something more.
While I was grateful for the stability, I began to see how much time I had spent away from my family, committed to building someone else’s vision. I wanted the freedom to create my own schedule, to be present for my loved ones, and to have the flexibility to live life on my terms—including the ability to travel and simply be there for the moments that matter most. I reached a point where I knew it was my time—not just to work, but to build. It was my time to give back to my family, not only through wealth, but through knowledge, leadership, and by showing them what it truly means to be your own boss and create endless opportunities for yourself.
In June 2024, I stepped out on faith and founded VeriAssure Diagnostics. VeriAssure was born from both my professional experience and my personal mission to serve my community. I saw a need for accessible, reliable, and professional diagnostic and specimen collection services, especially in communities like Frayser in Memphis, where I live. I wanted to create a company that would bring these services directly to people—whether for employers, families, or individuals—while delivering care with professionalism, dignity, and trust.
To further strengthen my expertise and expand the services VeriAssure could provide, I made the decision to return to school and pursue my clinical training. In December 2024, I became a Certified Phlebotomy Technician. That milestone was deeply personal for me because it allowed me to combine nearly ten years of healthcare administrative knowledge with hands-on clinical skill. It elevated not only my qualifications, but the level of service and care VeriAssure Diagnostics could offer.
Today, VeriAssure Diagnostics represents more than a business—it represents sacrifice, faith, growth, and purpose. It is the birth of a vision that allows me to serve my community, build a legacy for my family, and walk fully in my purpose. My journey has taught me that sometimes you have to step outside of comfort to truly grow. Memphis raised me, and now I’m proud that VeriAssure Diagnostics was born to serve Memphis and the surrounding communities.
This is not just my career—it’s my calling. And I truly believe this is only the beginning.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, my journey has come with both professional and deeply personal challenges that have shaped who I am today.
One of the most difficult moments in my life was losing my mother in July 2023. My kids and I lost my momma and their grandma to cancer after just five months. She was our backbone—our support system in every aspect of life. Her passing changed everything for us. It forced me to reflect on my life, my time, and my purpose. I realized I had spent so many years working every day, pouring into my career, but not truly reaping the fruits of life or the freedom that comes with it. Losing her made me understand that life is not promised, and it was time for me to start living with intention—not just working to survive, but building something meaningful for my family and our future.
Starting VeriAssure Diagnostics while carrying that grief was not easy. I was navigating loss while also stepping into entrepreneurship, which comes with its own uncertainties. There were long nights filled with doubt, fear of the unknown, and the pressure of building something from the ground up. I had to learn the business side—licensing, compliance, partnerships, and operations—while also developing my clinical skills and earning my Certified Phlebotomy Technician credential in December 2024 to expand my services and credibility.
There were also sacrifices. Transitioning from the security of a stable healthcare career into entrepreneurship meant stepping away from what was familiar and taking a leap of faith into something I was building on my own. Financial uncertainty, building trust in the community, and establishing my name in the industry were all real challenges.
But through every struggle, I’ve gained strength, clarity, and purpose. Those experiences reminded me why I started. VeriAssure Diagnostics became more than a business—it became part of my healing, part of my legacy, and part of honoring my mother by building something that creates opportunity, freedom, and impact for my family and my community.
The road hasn’t been smooth, but every obstacle has been worth it. Each challenge has helped shape the woman, the mother, and the business owner I am today.

One of my major goals is to establish a dedicated VeriAssure Diagnostics office location that will serve as a home base for clients while still maintaining the flexibility to meet people wherever services are needed. Having both a physical presence and mobile capability will allow us to serve even more people while continuing to provide the convenience and professionalism we’re known for.
I’m also looking forward to expanding our service offerings and building a team. As VeriAssure grows, I want to create opportunities to train and mentor others who are interested in entering the healthcare field, especially in specimen collection and phlebotomy. Being able to create jobs, provide knowledge, and open doors for others in my community is something that’s very important to me.
Long-term, I’m focused on building VeriAssure Diagnostics into a trusted and recognized name not just in Memphis, but across the region. I want the brand to represent excellence, accessibility, and opportunity. I’m not only building a business—I’m building a legacy for my children and showing them what’s possible through faith, hard work, and ownership.
What I look forward to most is the freedom that comes with entrepreneurship—the ability to be present with my family, to grow something meaningful, and to continue serving my community. VeriAssure Diagnostics was born from purpose, and the future is about continuing to walk fully in that purpose while creating lasting impact for generations to come.
