Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started as a Nanny in highschool. There I learned how in demand having a reliable “Nanny” childcare provider was. The family that I worked for then went through an agency in California to bring a full time nanny to their home to provide care for their children. I was the part time nanny. I worked 3-4 days a week to give the live in a break and an extra hand. As I worked for this family for years, I saw the need for this service here in Memphis. I promised myself that I would open a nanny business one day. After years of experience and education, I created Mobile Mommy in 2016. 10 years later and my business is thriving and have expanded. We offer nanny services and respite care services for children, where we are contracted with CHOICES and WellPoint insurance company where the state will pay for services for families with children with disabilities who in need of personal support care. We also are a PSSA agency. We provide Personal Support services for the for the elderly. We are contracted with many businesses and agencies across the State of Tennessee to provide outstanding supportive services to families, businesses and clients in need.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s definitely has not been a smooth road. But the key is to never give up. Keep persevering. My mom always quoted us the saying, “Only the strong survives”. I always kept that in mind. Never give up is the key!
