Today we’d like to introduce you to Derrick Dean.
Derrick, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In the year 2015, We have combined our talents and interests to create the K3 STUDIO CAFE EXPERIENCE. I, Derrick Dean (Owner), is a musician whose versatility across genres that allows us to offer variations in musical entertainment. I’m also a former educator and employment placement professional. Chef Korri Whittaker (Co- Owner) is a trained culinary artist who cooks as well as bakes. She oversees the bakery and food service section of the business. We have combined the love of food and music placing it into one location. That location is called K3 STUDIO CAFE. We’ve been in business for 7 years now and we’re continually growing! Currently, we manufacture our desserts in grocery stores and our kitchen is open daily. The Cake Truffle Shop is a part of K3 STUDIO CAFE. In the Cake Truffle Shop you will find over 30 flavors of your favorite Truffles, along with our chocolate buffet and frozen desserts for sell and ready to enjoy!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road hasn’t been too easy including a new roof, new parking lot, securing a fence Rinud, fixing equipment, hiring/firing situations and making sure business is in operation.
As you know, we’re big fans of K3 STUDIO CAFÉ. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We have our very own award-winning Chef Korri Whittaker who has moved back to Memphis, TN to become the co-owner and head chef for K3 STUDIO CAFE. Her relationship with other professional organizations and TV networks has placed us on greater level in the food service arena. I, Derrick Dean, a musician, educator for middle/ high school, foster parent, entrepreneur, music director, audio engineer, photographer has been around for a long time serving world with great musical performances. Korri and I has combined both businesses together and we’ve trusted the Lord and never doubled our interests. We are known for our live music and food. K3 STUDIO CAFE is different from other venues because not only you can eat and enjoy live music bands, but you can also rent the facility. We are very active in festivals around the United States showcasing our food products. We are not only proud of K3 STUDIO CAFE but we are proud of THE CAKE TRUFFLE SHOP which is located next door to K3 STUDIO CAFE. Our ratings for service, food and entertainment is rated high because we take pride in our services. We try our very best to give you an experience that you’ve never had at K3 STUDIO CAFE.
