Today we’d like to introduce you to II (2) Tone.
Hi II, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started a group called Da Crime Click, and my career took off from there. I started my label Mid-South Entertainment which is now Black Rain Entertainment with Lord Infamous of Three 6 Mafia, in 07.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been easy. I’ve had to work with people outside of Memphis.
Its no labels coming to Memphis for talent every artist that made it had to leave the city but Three 6 Mafia. My friend Sean and I started a sub-label to Black Rain called Super Villian to get some of the music out to people who hadn’t heard of us.
He is based in California so it was a perfect fit. I’m an artist that has vitiligo so I’m trying to bring awareness to it.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a recording artist and owner of a label. I have or featured on over 20 albums and counting. I am proud of everything I do and write because no one can take that from me.
What sets me apart from others is I want to be the best, and my drive and goals my hustle are unmatched.
