Hi Jenilee, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
At the heart of Champalou spa is founder Jenilee, whose journey started in holistic skincare and wellness at the prestigious Aveda institute in Minneapolis in 2007. With over 5,000 hours of intensive training and multiple certifications, Jenilee has transformed her passion for natural healing into an art form. After moving to the Memphis area in 2009, she developed respiratory issues. Her breaking point was not being able to breathe, waking up choking and felt lead by the Holy Spirit to create her own organic skin care and body care line. This launching took place in 2015, the same year Champalou Spa was born. Jenilee’s mission was to create a space that brought together customized treatments for every guest, meeting their wellness needs using the finest organic ingredients, and creating a peaceful and tranquil environment where every guest leaves feeling relaxed, renewed, and rejuvenated.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been many changes and challenges over the last 10 years. With being the owner, the boss, and an esthetician working in the treatment room. Finding balance and hiring the right people to deliver the mission I see for Champalou spa has been a learning experience for me.
As you know, we’re big fans of Champalou spa. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
As a woman owned and operated holistic spa, Champalou features four intimate treatment rooms where our mission is to provide customized, restorative treatments that nourish your mind, body, and spirit. What sets us apart is our commitment to pure, natural healing. I create about 95% of the products we use and are available for retail purchase. We are known for our customized holistic facials and offer Hydrafacials, Glo2 facials, Collagen facials, derma planing, micro current, facelift massage, facial cupping and multiple enhancing treatments. I absolutely love waxing and Brazilians are my favorite service. Our waxing includes everything from facial waxing to full body waxing. Our massage therapy involves Swedish and deep tissue massage, hot stone and warm bamboo, raindrop treatment, assisted stretching and table Thai. Our ionic foot detox and ear candling treatments are great for everyone. We have won 12 awards since 2020 and continue to do our absolute best with making every treatment feel like a 5 star experience.

We strongly believe in giving back to the community and support our local schools, churches, and non-profit groups. We are always excited for continued growth and I personally love training and developing my team.
