Today we’d like to introduce you to Keeton Robinson.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
How I got started in concert photography was mainly just attending concerts and my curiosity about photographers being close to the artists got my attention.
I had a love for photography at a young age and I didn’t take it seriously initially. I began to do more research and just brought my camera everywhere that I was allowed to.
The passion got stronger and the shows got bigger, and my consistency kept me going to take photos of bigger artists.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When I first got into concert photography, it was rough.
Just finding the artist’s contact information was a struggle, and trying to find a media outlet that would help you build your portfolio. Reaching out to venues and not hearing back became a little stressful.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I mainly specialize in concert photography, but the other types of photography I do are sports, portrait, and street photography. I’m most proud of my concert photography.
The process was rough and starting off taking photos of smaller artists at tiny venues then now I’m covering bigger artists at festivals and in arenas.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My peers and other photographers I reached out to have played a big role in my success.
The main person who played a big role was my dad for the focus and the motivation to keep going and pursue my photography career.
People that I met that’s also creatives have helped me to become better photographers and I do the same.
