Today we’d like to introduce you to Mario Holmes
Hi Mario , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised here in Memphis. I excelled at a suburban school in the area.. Hernando. After my first year in Hernando schools, I was placed in gifted classes. I’d regularly win spelling bees, science fairs, and problem solving competitions. I was part of a team that made history at Hernando Middle School at “Odyssey of the Mind”(an international problem solving completion). While performing well academically and athletically at a very competitive school, I was raised in a drug/gang infested neighborhood. I embrace it all. It makes me who I am. My online presence is all of that. I’m not a character, I’m just a regular guy.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This road has been very rough. I’ve faced homelessness, divorce, had my kids taken from me, addiction, and depression throughout the years. I still battle with anxiety today. I do the work needed to progress and remain positive on a daily basis. It’s not easy, but giving up is never an option.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m professionally in the transportation industry. For years I’ve been in different avenues of sales(mainly phones). I’m most proud of my current endeavors online. I’m interested in having a bigger online presence. I’m raw. I speak my mind and I really have seen most of things I talk about.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I’d like to sign some major partnership deals to create more avenues for the disadvantaged. My heart is in “The Streets”. I want better for my people. I’ve been changing the atmosphere for the people that listen to me. I see a more positive, peaceful, and productive future for America as a whole.
