Hi Morgan , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hello, my name is Morgan. I started cosmetology at Germantown Highschool as an elective received hours from 10-12 grade. When I finished I decided to continue my hours at TCAT Memphis. Later I decided to work at Supercuts for about a year, and decided that wasn’t going to be enough pay, although I learned a lot and gained a lot of experience from there it was time for a change. So I went solo and started working out of a suite. I worked in a suite for about 8 years of my career never fully felt satisfied. On my 9th year as a suite renter I decided this isn’t for me anymore let me try a traditional open floor salon. Which landed me at Salon De Coupe in Bartlett Tn. I would have to say it’s the best thing I’ve done for my career. I love the community of an open floor setting and still being able to give my clients a personable experience. Hair is my passion and I strive to continue to do my best with every head I touch.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Yes and no, sometimes there are slow seasons but in those seasons you have to strategically map out the way you move as far as getting clients in saving money and continue to keep business going.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a natural hair cosmetologist . I specialize in healthy hair. I am known for “silk presses” aka a flat iron but in the community I am it takes proper technique and skill to give the achievable look that your clients are wanting. I think what sets me apart from others is I tell my clients all the time. I’m the closest thing you’ll get to an old school stylist. All you have to do is book your appointment and show up. I don’t have all of these rules fees deposits etc.. just show up and I’ll do my part.
