Today we’d like to introduce you to Nataline Pomar.
Nataline, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My taste for COLORS and my passion for art and textiles come from a very young age. From my mother, I have inherited the love for needles, she is a dressmaker. From my father, he retains a passion for art, he is a collector. Both were also owners of Tejidos Soler, a fabric store in Palma de Mallorca.
All this led me to study Fine Arts between Barcelona, Salamanca, and Leeds. Over the years, I created my brand Rollitoasí where I can express all my creativity through interior design, fashion, design, art, and illustration. I had a multi-brand store for 13 years, which was a meeting place with other artists, designers, and illustrators.
The 2020 pandemic made me rethink the whole project, I had a vital need to simplify and focus all my energies back on art. At the beginning of 2021, I decided to close the doors of the physical store. A couple of months later, I opened the ColorLab, my studio, workshop, and creative laboratory, a space where I can share experiences with other artists and much more.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve been with my brand and project for 20 years, so I’ve been through many different phases. Some better and some worse.
I think that the important thing to last over time is to be connected and in love with your project. The passion for what we do is what moves us to move forward in difficult times.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a multidisciplinary artist and COLOR activist, or as I like to call it, I am ARTIVIST COLOR is powerful and can help improve your day-to-day life. My passion is to create through vibrant COLORS to offer unique products and experiences that have a positive impact.
Many times people say that you have to focus on one thing, I love a thousand different things, I think that artists have the ability to create a wide universe of possibilities. I like painting, designing cheerful and colorful spaces, and creating products that brighten our day.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My parents had a family weaving business, where I spent the afternoons playing with colored fabrics, drawing, and creating. I wanted to get home from school to play in my parents’ store with my neighbor.
