Meet R.J. of R.M. Junior & Co. Marketing Consultants

Today we’d like to introduce you to R.J..

R.J., we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Randy McDonald, Jr. and I’m from Walls, MS. I’m 23 years old and I’m a Senior at the University of Mississippi, Ole Miss, Majoring in Graphic Design. To begin my story, my freshman year of High School, I took a class that taught us the basics in Adobe Photoshop. It started from there. The crazy thing is, I hated the class, but something told me to keep going and learn as much as I can in it. After the class was over, maybe about 5 months later, I downloaded Photoshop on my personal device, and I began researching on what some call Youtube University. The rest is history.

Growing up, my parents have always ran their own businesses and have been extremely successful, so my business sense and Work ethic come from them. I started creating flyers and ther digital material. My first clients were my Uncle and Aunt, Pastor Dwight & First Lady Ruby Mosley. They have been there and supported every step of the journey.

I then began creating Funeral Programs and other paper stationary. My first program was an Aunt in the family that Passed away. That was years ago, and the crazy thing is I was only able to create for family. I was about 15 years Old. Now at 23, I average about 3 programs a Week and about 5 to 6 digital Flyers a week along with other stationary that’s relevant to business branding.

We’ve grown to be able to hire designers, printers, and delivery personnel that are trained by myself. We tend to specialize in more professional, sleek designs that give off a more luxury tone with a hint of Urban vibes.

That’s the origin, now fast forward to current. We’ve rebranded in 2023 to R.M. Junior & Co. Marketing Consultants, and we’ve experienced tremendous growth (We still remain small in number of personnel. The less people working for you, the less problems.) and have met so many people and been so many places that It’s unbelievable to me. I give all credit to God. There have been times where we were supposed to go under and everything was predicted to fall apart, but God has his hand in my business, and We let our clients know that we are faith based.

Now, we are a company that is well versed in the entire Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Suit, 3d rendering programs, and we also deal with a small amount of coding. I’ve been able to train in these softwares under the expertise of Tyler Barnes, Hudd Byard, and Bryce Heesacker who are professors at Ole Miss.

Under the Marketing firm, R.M. Junior & Co, we have subsidiary businesses that also fall into the media category, including the Photography and Videography sector of things, which is named CultureShots by Mac (On IG, @cultureshotsbymac), A media publishing company, McDonald Media and Publishing Group, a catering company, Macsnacks Catering from the soul, and a Record Label, Mac & Friends the Label.

Along with owning the firm, I’m a God fearing man, I’m a family man, and I love, love. God left no room in me to hate or be rude towards anyone. It’s not in my blood. I also am a Recording Artist, in which I have released 5 blues singles that can be found of all streaming Platforms. One thing that I can truly say about myself is that I’m a jack of all trades and I love being so. I’ll never limit myself to one thing. I look at myself as a creative in a world that needs things constantly created. I believe with God by my side, i’m the man for the job.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absoluty not.

-Failed projects,
-Missed deadlines
-Self evaluation
-Financial Struggles
-Weeks without income or business
-Learning as I go
-People who you thought were with you, turning on you,

to name just a few. I always tell people, If you want to learn to trust in God, become an entrepreneur. You’ll quickly realize it’s not a smooth road.

As you know, we’re big fans of R.M. Junior & Co. Marketing Consultants. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
R.M. Junior & Co Marketing Consultants is a full service Marketing and Graphic Design Firm, specializing in print marketing and strategy, along Stationary design. We have a peculiar style that houses old school luxury, modernism, and urban, under the same roof. We also have our hand in Web Design and UI design.

We are a faith based business and aren’t ashamed about it. God has blessed us tremendously along the way, and we help people when we can, and we love giving back to the community.

We offer more services other than Graphics with our Subsidiary businesses under R.M. Junior & Co; including catering, a record label and music distribution services, media publishing, and Photography and Videography.

We’re unashamed about who we are as a business, and brand wise, it’s payed off. Our style of design allows us to fully tailer a clients message to reach younger crowds with stunning, elegant visuals that relate to current trends on social media by adding humor and urbanization. This proves to be effective for clients who run businesses such as lounges, Night-clubs, car dealerships, streaming platforms, and also social media influencer branding.

What makes you happy?
My equation is Church, family, being with people who I love and love me back, relaxation, trailrides, and brunch ,

Besides the lord and family, Brunch is my absolute favorite thing to do (Trailrides are a strong second). It’s nothing like you and a group of your friends or family enjoying good vibes as you eat breakfast and talk about life while having mimosas.
