We’re looking forward to introducing you to Miz Stefani. Check out our conversation below.
Miz, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
For the last 13+ years, my mornings have become my ritual and routine time. Wake up, brush my teeth, wash my face, change into work out clothes, and meditate for about 40 or so minutes. Then, it’s onto my morning work out. For me, this includes lots of facial movement, eye movement, and breath-work – then moving my body. This varies between stretching, HIIT, SIIT, yoga, pilates, walking, dancing (anytime is good for that!), and endurance weight training. This is the absolute foundation to my day… followed by eating a healthy breakfast!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Miz Stefani. A vocalist, songwriter, producer, comedian, gluten-free baker, and believer in magic and miracles and spreading positive energy and vibes wherever I go! My career spans over two decades in music, theater, radio, and performance – including over 20 years in NYC, where I honed my craft and collaborated on a range of creative projects. That experience continues to shape my work today, and a lot of the work I produce is based on my real life experiences and situations.
As the creator and curator of ‘Women in Memphis Music’ for the last four years, I’ve had the privilege of connecting and showcasing many of the city’s most talented female artists, helping to highlight the depth and diversity of Memphis’ musical landscape.
Right now, my focus is on my second album, due out this spring, and this is a release that marks a new chapter in both sound and direction. It’s an exciting time of growth and creative renewal, and I’m eager to share this next evolution of my artistry with listeners everywhere.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
There’s no question that what breaks the bonds between people most often are dishonesty, manipulation, and empty words – when actions don’t align with what’s being said. Trust is fragile, and once it’s broken, it’s difficult to rebuild.
Restoring connection starts with truth and consistent action. Words can start the process, but only genuine behavior can prove change. In some cases, trust may never return to what it once was, but when people choose honesty, accountability, integrity, and follow-through, it creates space for healing and, sometimes, a stronger bond than before.
Is there something you miss that no one else knows about?
I miss focused attention… real conversation, eye contact, and presence without a screen in the way. There was a time when people truly listened, when moments weren’t constantly interrupted by notifications. Now everyone’s half in, half out, multitasking through connections. I miss when we gave each other our full attention, because it made interactions more meaningful.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
There’s only one version of me — what you see is what you get. I’m the same person on stage, off stage, and behind closed doors. I don’t know how to be anything other than my true self, 24/7. Authenticity isn’t something I turn on; it’s who I am.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace in those moments when I can see or feel the impact of what I’ve created. When people close their eyes, sway to a song I’ve written, and smile — that’s peace. When someone enjoys one of my gluten-free treats and says they can’t believe it’s gluten-free — that’s peace, too. I find it in the quiet moments shuffling around my kitchen, after cooking. I feel it on my mat, breathing deeply, fully present and grounded, then writing down phrases or words that come into my head. And at the end of the day, before I go to sleep, I go over my gratitude list, I know I’m exactly where I’m meant to be — and that brings me complete peace.
