Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—but I wouldn’t trade the journey for anything. Like many immigrants, I had to start from zero, navigating a new culture, a new language, and a new system, while holding onto the values and identity I grew up with. There were moments of uncertainty, of feeling out of place, of wondering if the sacrifices would be worth it.
But those same struggles taught me resilience. These helped me understand how powerful it is to have someone who can guide you, connect you, and simply say, “You’re not alone.” That’s part of why I created Amigo Community Center, to be the bridge I wish I had when I was just starting out.
The path has been full of ups and downs, but every challenge has shaped me in who I am today. And the best part is, it’s still unfolding, because every day brings a new aventure to grow and inspire others do the same.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a professional with Bank of America, I’m most proud of the opportunity to impact the financial wellbeing of our clients. It’s fulfilling to be part of a team that strives for excellence and builds trust through responsible banking practices. What connects me the most to BofA is the commitment to community engagement and empowering individuals to achieve their financial goals.
Now, with Amigo Community Center, I’m most proud of our role in connecting people to vital resources that support their progress, growth, and education. Especially now with this challenging times, we strive to be an example, empowering our community to do things correctly and thrive.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
One of the biggest lessons in my life has been learning to adapt to major changes and challenges. Embracing obstacles as part of everyday life has taught me to accept the obstacles while controlling my response to it. I’ve learned to have empathy for myself, to forgive myself, and to understand that it’s okay not to be okay.
I can say that my most important lesson, It’s about acknowledging the pain, but not letting it stop me from being who I am. Instead, I channel it into positive actions, like serving others or focusing on self-care.
