Today we’d like to introduce you to Bag Of Donuts
Hi Bag of Donuts, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We started in 1988. We got the name, Bag of Donuts from a comedian name Dom Irrera. We decided early on to dress up in costumes to bring Mardi Gras to the masses year round.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We’ve been extremely fortunate to enjoy what we do with bandmates that we truly love.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We play cover music (music from other artists). We play all genres as early as the 60’s to present. We consider our set list, Superpop. We coined the phrase “Superpop” which is essentially all good pop music suped up.
In 2019, we were the first cover band to be inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t know if I’d consider hard work and commitment luck in our business but we’ve had the great fortune to continue what we do and meet wonderful people along the way. We also feel fortunate that they seem to have a mutual appreciation for our performances.
