### From Wyoming to Asheville: The Journey of Rustic Ritual Beauty
Eight years ago, I found myself in the breathtaking landscapes of Wyoming, working as the Wellness Leader at the prestigious Releaux Chateau Resort. It was a transformative time, especially as I helped launch their second spa location. During those quiet moments amidst the hustle of the resort, I often reflected on the interplay between ritual, self-care, and beauty. That introspection led to the creation of a product that would encapsulate those ideals: a versatile lip and cheek tint.
I envisioned a tint that was not only easy to apply but also universally flattering, travel-friendly, and low-maintenance—something that would empower individuals to feel beautiful and confident in their own skin. Thus, Rustic Ritual Beauty was born: a two-in-one lip and cheek tint designed for the adventurous professional on the go.
Fast forward several years, and I found myself in Asheville, North Carolina, navigating the joys of motherhood with my now seven-year-old twins while working as a stylist. Inspired by my experiences, I began dreaming of a communal space dedicated entirely to self-care. For years, I searched for the perfect location to combine a spa and salon, longing for a place that could foster relaxation and rejuvenation.
This past April, I discovered an ideal space—bathed in perfect lighting and ample room for both a spa and a salon. Today, we proudly offer not only my handmade lip and cheek tint but also a curated selection of clean beauty products, all within a sanctuary designed for holistic self-care. Rustic Ritual Beauty has truly evolved into a haven for those seeking beauty and balance in their busy lives.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a relatively smooth road…all things considered! There have been some minor hurdles (mostly time and patience on things to move forward). This whole process has me believing in the universe has your back! It was almost as if the universe was just waiting for me to decide. I’d say my largest opponent has been myself. Overcoming self-doubt and fear has been the greatest struggle. Once I decided and leaned into being scared, and unsure, all the pieces fell into place. Outsourcing all the help that I needed and finding people who are better skilled at things that aren’t in my wheelhouse, all have made the biggest difference in making this dream come true.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a creative, innovative, idea person! I see things differently from others and I see the potential in most things. Something my artist father used to tell me in childhood was there are no mistakes in art, there are only opportunities. That stuck with me! I like to transform things into something more fluid, exciting, and breathtaking. In the medium I chose, which was hair, I see the transformation on someone by just looking at them. The cut that’s going to bring our their natural beauty, their individual features that sets them apart. I specialize in curly, wavy textured hair and I have a way of helping the client feel at ease, confident in their own selves and approaching a hairstyle in a more holistic way. Allowing a low maintence cut to be an easy thing for the client to take care of on their own.
I am most proud of my commitment to clean (non-toxic) beauty, my ability to bring out the best in everyone, lift others up and create connection.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I love reading growth oriented books!! Audiobooks in the car are where its at! I have read so many over time, it’s hard to pick just one favorite. I started industry specific business coaching last year and that has been an extreme help in getting me to where I am now!
