Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Fields.
Hi Daniel, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey with music started before I even really understood what music was. As a kid, I was fascinated by sounds—the booms, clicks, rhythms, and little details that other people might overlook. Music always felt natural to me.
In middle school, I joined band, and even though I was teased and discouraged at times, I kept going. By high school, I was already creating music through a music-making program, experimenting with different sounds and genres and teaching myself how to turn ideas in my head into something people could actually hear.
After school, I worked with local artists and studios, learning production, engineering, mixing, sound design, and everything else I could. Eventually, I realized that I had my own path to create, so I transitioned from my old name, D Trackz, to Konsciencebeatz—a name that represented the way I thought about music and creativity.
Over the years, I continued developing my craft, working with artists, producing thousands of records and instrumentals, and eventually earning placements on projects connected to Grammy-winning artists and albums. I’ve worked across multiple genres and learned that being a producer isn’t just about making beats—it’s about understanding people, emotions, sound, and the story an artist is trying to tell.
Today, I’m still evolving. I’m building my own catalog, brand, and platform while continuing to produce, engineer, mentor, and create. I believe music is more than entertainment. It can heal, inspire, shift perspectives, and connect people in ways that words sometimes can’t.
When I look back, the biggest lesson I’ve learned is simple: love what you do, keep developing your gift, and don’t let other people’s doubts convince you to abandon something that was placed inside you for a reason.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There have been a lot of highs and lows, both personally and professionally. I’ve experienced financial struggles, periods where I questioned whether I was really going to make it, and times when I had to step away from what I wanted to do just to survive and take care of my responsibilities.
There were also moments when I felt like people didn’t understand the vision I had for my music. I’ve had to learn how to keep believing in myself when the results weren’t immediate. Building a career in music can be challenging because you can put your heart into something and still not know when—or if—the opportunity is going to come.
Personally, I’ve gone through some difficult seasons with my family and relationships as well. Those experiences forced me to grow, take accountability, and look at myself differently. Thankfully, my wife and I have found our way back to each other, and being able to rebuild together has been one of the most meaningful parts of my journey.
Looking back, I wouldn’t say the struggles were wasted. They taught me patience, humility, resilience, and the importance of continuing to move forward even when the path isn’t clear. I’m still working toward where I want to be, but I’ve learned to appreciate the journey instead of only focusing on the destination.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My work is centered around music production, sound engineering, sound design, mixing, mastering, and helping artists bring ideas to life. At my core, I’m a producer, but I’ve always looked at production as much more than making a beat. I’m creating an environment for an artist to tell their story.
I’ve worked across a wide range of genres and styles, and I’m known for being versatile. I can go from hard-hitting hip-hop and trap to R&B, cinematic music, electronic sounds, orchestral arrangements, and more. I enjoy combining sounds and influences that you wouldn’t necessarily expect to hear together and finding a way to make them work.
One thing I’m particularly proud of is my ability to hear the small details. I’m very intentional about sound selection, rhythm, texture, frequency, and atmosphere. I’ve spent years developing my ear, studying production and engineering, and learning how to make music translate emotionally as well as technically.
I’ve also had the opportunity to work with talented artists and have my production featured on projects that went on to receive major recognition, including Grammy-winning albums. But honestly, I’m just as proud of the amount of music I’ve created and the people I’ve been able to help along the way. I’ve produced well over 100,000 instrumentals, and every one represents another opportunity to learn, experiment, and grow.
What sets me apart is that I don’t want to simply recreate what’s already popular. I’m always looking for my own sound and my own approach. I believe music should have character. It should make you feel something.
Ultimately, I see music as a gift. Whether I’m producing for an established artist, working with someone just getting started, or creating something completely on my own, I want the end result to have purpose. I want people to hear it and feel something they didn’t feel before they pressed play.
That’s what I’m most proud of—not just the credits, the awards, or the number of records I’ve made, but the fact that after all these years, I’m still genuinely excited about creating.
How do you define success?
Success is unique to you. Ask yourself, are you satisfied with the things that you’ve accomplished? That answer is the definition of success.
