Today we’d like to introduce you to Fresco Trey.
Hi Fresco, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Growing up, I played basketball. I stopped playing basketball when I was 18 and transitioned to music. My sister (Ashley Ave) paved the way for me. She would take me to the studio with her, pay for a studio session, etc. I fell in love with the process of making music and I’ve been head over heels ever since.
In 2020, I went through a hard breakup and that’s when I turned the corner with my career. I started singing about my relationships and people from all over the world started relating to my horrors and my career started going upward from there.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been an extremely tough road.
Simply being from Memphis making a different kind of music it wasn’t easy to get the city to accept it and be willing to get behind it. A lot of people counted me out because the vision didn’t look feasible being from Memphis. Music can be up and down at times, so there are a lot of times when it seems impossible but that’s what motivated me.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am Fresco Trey and I am a musical artist. I specialize in vocals mainly, also instruments but not as much as vocals.
I’m known for my songs Feel Good, Need You, Got You. I’m proud of the fact that I made a lane for myself coming from the city I’m from. I didn’t take no for an answer. My tone, context, and image I feel separates me from others.
