Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Lightfoot.
Hi Kimberly, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Lightfoot Farm Market began in June 2020 with a heartfelt dream—to create a place where the community could connect through fresh, local goods and shared experiences. Founded by Neil and Kimberly Lightfoot, the market started as a simple idea: to bring the best of what our local farmers, makers, and artisans have to offer into one welcoming space.
Tucked away in the scenic backroads of Millington, Tennessee, our vibrant countryside market has grown into a beloved destination. Whether you’re picking up fresh produce, farm-raised meats, creamy dairy, or handcrafted treasures, you’ll find something special around every corner. From day one, we’ve poured our hearts into every detail—from the incredible vendors we partner with to the one-of-a-kind events we host right here on the farm.
At Lightfoot Farm Market, we’re more than just a market—we’re a celebration of community, craftsmanship, and the simple joys of rural life. We hope you enjoy all we have to offer and help us spread the word by sharing the experience with friends and neighbors.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like many small businesses, our journey hasn’t been without its challenges. We opened our doors during the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, determined to offer a safe and reliable source of local food and comfort in a time of isolation. Then, in July 2023, we faced one of our toughest trials—a devastating fire that damaged much of what we had worked so hard to build. It was a heartbreaking setback, but also a powerful reminder of the resilience of our community and the strength of our dream. Through every high and low, from supply chain struggles to the unpredictable nature of farm life, we’ve leaned on our faith, our family, and the unwavering support of our loyal customers. These trials have only deepened our passion and commitment to Lightfoot Farm Market—and to the people who make it all possible.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At Lightfoot Farm Market, we specialize in curating a truly local shopping experience, where every product has a story and every vendor feels like family. We’re known for offering farm-fresh produce, pasture-raised meats, rich dairy products, and unique, handcrafted goods you won’t find in big-box stores. What sets us apart is our deep connection to the land and our love for creativity—Neil brings hands-on farming expertise as a full-time farmer for a local grower, thriving in everything from mechanics to crop production, while Kimberly brings a creative edge as a talented graphic designer, secretary, and natural entrepreneur. Together, we blend hard work with heart, offering a market that reflects both the spirit of rural life and the artistry of small-town craftsmanship. We’re most proud of the relationships we’ve built—with our customers, our vendors, and our community—and the opportunity to support other small businesses while doing what we love every single day.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The quality we believe has been most important to our success is perseverance—rooted deeply in our faith in God. From the beginning, we’ve trusted that He placed this calling on our hearts for a reason, and that trust has carried us through every challenge. Whether it was launching during a pandemic, rebuilding after a devastating fire, or navigating the everyday trials of running a small business, our faith has been our foundation. It gives us strength when the days are long, hope when things feel uncertain, and purpose in everything we do. Perseverance, guided by God and fueled by love for our community, is what continues to grow Lightfoot Farm Market—season after season.
