Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Logan
Hi Lauren, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started out thinking I wanted to be a nurse. Looking back I should have seen the signs that I always wanted to do hair, I would cut all my friends hair in the dorm room with the medical scissors. In 2013 I was diagnosed with heart failure. I knew nursing wasn’t right for me and God lead me right where I was supposed to be. I have my previous employers Shay and Daniel Gomez to thank for who I am today. I went through their apprentice program and was taught so much. I’m grateful for the 8 years I had there, it’s what pushed me to take a leap of faith and become my own boss.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Nothing is ever smooth sailing, but I have an amazing clientele who has been the biggest support system towards my big move. My family and friends were there to cheer me on and support me in every way needed.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As a hairstylist you are able to show your creativity and in the end make people happy. Both of those things is what makes going to work to enjoyable. I specialize in hair extensions. They are my passion, getting to see the transformation unfold and turning their chair around for them to see the final piece and their huge smile, that’s what keeps me going. So many woman are struggling with hair loss or excessive shedding and I’m so grateful I’m able to help build their confidence back with extensions.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
I knew when it was time for me to move up and do what was best for me and my family. I relied on listening to God and allowing him to truly show my path. As soon as I walked into my suite I knew this was where I was suppose to be. My advice for someone would be don’t be scared, take the chance.
