Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexus Wiggins
Hi Alexus, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started my modeling journey in 2021 after I graduated college. I was really passionate about starting so I paid for coaching classes, creative direction and runway coaching. In the beginning, it was hard for me to step outside of my comfort zone but when I did, I would achieve the best results. I made it a goal to work with the best photographers in the area to build up my portfolio. It was definitely an investment, but it was well worth it. I now get asked to walk in shows all over the U.S. and have been apart of so many wonderful opportunities, which is amazing. I am no longer stuck in a box, and it has made me a more creative individual.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Throughout the journey, I had some moments where I would doubt myself or ask myself if I can actually make a career out of modeling. Starting out, it is hard not to have those thoughts, but I knew that if I did not believe in myself, I would achieve nothing. Now I am very confident in my craft and am extremely proud of myself for never giving up.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a model/creative. I specialize in commercial, print and editorial modeling. I am most known for my photoshoots. I love to bring a story to my photos and show my creativity through my photoshoots. I am most proud of my out of state runway shows and my multiple magazine publications. My drive and ambition set me apart from others because I could get a million “no’s” and all I hear is “not yet”.
What does success mean to you?
If I am happy mentally, physically and spiritually then I am successful.
