Check Out Darrell Chambers’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Darrell Chambers

Hi Darrell, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story started in Memphis Tennessee in the heart of North Memphis as a little kid who fell in love with music right out the womb. My parents raised me up in the church and because I loved musuc so much, i joined the church to choir because I wanted to sing lol.

At the age of 5 years old, I knew I wanted to be an entertainer in the music industry, and Micheal Jackson, was my favorite artist at the time.

My godmother used to take me to Michael Jackson contest in the park and I would dance and sing against other kids and even though I couldn’t sing or even dance she would always make sure that I won in her eyes and that’s what built my confidence, So I have to thank Maxine Agnew for that.

After a few years of me realizing that I couldn’t really sing I started trying to figure out what I could do in the music industry and then hip hop came along and took off and I fell in love with that and I knew right then that this was what I was going to do.

So I taught myself how to write bars choruses and I would listen to songs on the radio and record them to take if I like to beat and then I would write my own song to that beat of the song that I heard or had recorded from the radio.

From there I started rapping for anyone who would listen and write off everyone gave me High Praise on my rap skills in the content that I was wrapping about Tupac was my favorite artist so mostly all of my early music was about things that were going on in my community politics fighting against oppression and poverty

Once I started taking my music career seriously I was connected with a producer who lived in another area of Memphis called Frazier named John Wilhite and we started to create Magic. The first song I ever recorded was a record call it don’t rain forever and the song got kind of popular amongst my neighborhood and it was so diverse that churches started to have me come perform that song in the church and so that show me that I was on the right path

Getting more confident in my skills and music and ready to take the next leap I linked up with the local producer named Joseph Collins Joe Blow the CEO and we made my first hit record certified and that’s where Yung D was born

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing’s ever smooth the ups and downs the bumps in the road the Hoops you have to jump through the hurdles you have to get over are the things that make you who you are those are the things that make you resilient adversity is always a good thing because it builds character
