Conversations with Emmanuel Chibuike

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emmanuel Chibuike.

Hi Emmanuel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I remembered vividly when I was a little kid I do admire and learn alot of good stuff from the good people I look up to. When it was the perfect time I got admitted to high school. The name of my school was St. Joseph’s Seminary Special School at Awka-Etiti under Idemili south local government area, Anambra State Nigeria.

During my high school days, we do have extra curriculum activities. At the end of each section, the school organizes “Gala Night”. It’s a form of social gathering whereby both academic staff and students attend. Entertainment was what usually makes it Fun. The Art Club and Drama club perform according to how the programs are been set.

At this moment, I usually see dancers perform and it was so fantastic. I admired their dance and it was fun to always see them perform. I was inspired by watching the good dancers. Later on, I had a few of my friends who also had the same interest. We worked on ourselves to be able to perform for the next gala-night.

My own group did incredible things that made all the students be anticipating our next performance on stage.
We carried on the same motive until we graduated from high school. After we graduated some of my cliques really find it difficult to carry on with the dancing.

At this point, I have been inspired by so many famous dancers like @kidathegreat. I told myself that I really know I could achieve that and I have to be taking dance classes and staying active on social media where I usually showcase my dance routine.

That was the same spirit I have carried to date to never up and work hard to be the better version of myself.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Yes of course they were challenges. First, as a young dancer taking dance classes and learning dancing steps was a bit difficult. It took alot of energy and time to perfect the moves.

Second, I faced alot of criticism from different people basically on dancing. Although it made me stronger and made me be mentally tough to avoid low self-esteem.

Finally, I was a bit nervous and shy to perform on stage or in a smaller group audience but with time I overcame that.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
There will grow in my industry and I will see myself making it big in the next five years.
