Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaiah James.
Hi Isaiah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I’ve been drawing since I could remember, I always joined art contests to see where my level was and it was never to the level, I wanted it to be. So, in high school, I started taking art classes, Online Art Courses, etc. Now that I’m older, I self-taught myself a lot of things including animation.
I’ve always been into fashion, so my thought process was why not put my art and clothing together and make my own clothing brand. So, I started my first ever business in January 2022, and the journey is just beginning.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In terms of ideas, it’s been amazing, I have tons of ideas I really want to draw out, the only issue I had since starting is the finances. I’ve been selling a lot of my shoe collection to get certain things done, and I always use half or most of the profits I make from one-piece clothing, toward the next.
That way I don’t go completely broke trying to get things done.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Graphic Design artist and an Animator, I specialize in Stylized, Anime, and cartoon designs. I’m most proud of myself, for finally doing what I’ve been wanting to do for a while. What makes me different is, I want to use everything in my arsenal to make a good-looking piece. I’ll go the extra mile to create a design and then go back to animate it.
What were you like growing up?
I was very (reclusive) and to myself. I was also very shy and quiet. I was always into art, and because I didn’t say much, that’s all I was kind of known for, being good at art.
