Today we’d like to introduce you to Alicia Johnson.
Hi Alicia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I have also had a hustler spirit. In high school, I was basically the candy lady. I had every snack you wanted. Walking around with a full Duffle bag, and sold out daily before lunch. So, fast-forward. I have always been an opportunist. So, I have a cousin who is a Music Artist in Memphis Tn (Kendrick P.) So, my boyfriend wanted to support (KP) by purchasing some custom apparel to give away at a show for promotional purposes from someone he knew. I think he spent right at $350 for maybe 15 shirts. When we received the order, it just wasn’t the quality and consistency, we were expecting for that dollar amount. I as well thought of the amount of money spent and others who may want to spend that and more!! I figure I could have made that money and done better. So, I prayed about it. Researched the process and things I needed to know about creating custom apparel. And I said Lord if you allow this opportunity by financing this equipment, I will be the best out there. And that’s exactly what happened. A Little Bit of Everything Apparel was born. I got the financing I needed and have been working hard ever since and that was in 2016.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Building my clientele was fairly easy. Word of mouth really gets around. As well as the quality of work I produced kept my constantly working. However, sometimes clients would see items on the internet that was beyond my skills or equipment at the time. Everything they may see isn’t an actual shirt. It May actually be photos hoped. So, I had that difficulty explaining that. However, I always made suggestions and provided the clients with something that was within my capabilities. And just like anything else you have to continue to move with the time, upgrade equipment and increase your productivity and output of products.

As well as the Shelby County Schools System. Alboe Apparel also devotes itself to giving back. Teaching people a new craft that could ultimately lead them to create their own business and or clothing brand.
