Meet De’Asia Walker

Today we’d like to introduce you to De’Asia Walker.

Hi De’Asia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
So it all started when I was planning a meet and greet for my wedding party and I was like, I should have a picnic for them so that get together was a success, so a week later I was telling my fiancé how much I enjoyed setting up the picnic and I should start doing this as a business since COVID was not allowing people to really get out.

So my first setup was at my house for my aunt and her fiancé and after that, I posted pictures online and got a positive response from people, so after that things were off to a good start, and one day, one of my clients requested a charcuterie board and I didn’t have a clue about making a board.

So I did my research online and was able to deliver, so after that I was like, I really enjoyed making that and I don’t see many people making those where I live, so I was like, this is something I would love to add to my picnics.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been a challenge because sometimes I get discouraged when I don’t have a lot of bookings.

I overthink a lot about what if and that brings a lot of stress and makes me want to give up on this business and just work my part-time retail job. But that’s when I pray to God about everything and he redirects my thoughts and my family also reminds me I can do anything but sing and dance. Lol, and my time will come.

So now I am working out of a commercial kitchen as a start to prepare my orders.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Hi, my name is De’Asia Walker, owner of Pretty Little Posh located in Germantown, TN. I was born in Somerville, TN. I am a mother of one. I set up picnics for just about any occasion, and I make charcuterie boards.

I am proud that I am actually the owner of a business, so I can kind of make my own schedule and people get to see how creative I am through my work and I am proud that I get to put smiles on people’s faces through my work.

Making other people happy is what makes me happy and what sets me apart from others is that I actually love what I do a lot and you can see that in my work. I make sure my clients are pleased with my work because I care about the quality my clients are receiving and not only does my work look good, it tastes good.

We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
A lot of people don’t know that I love dogs and I love listening to Young Dolph’s music every day and how much his music pushes me to give my all.
