That’s what I mean when i say full creative freedom and control. My passion for art is what I beleive sets me apart from everyone else. I see art everyday in life. As soon as I open my eyes and the light from the sun is piercing from my window through they white blinds, it creates a beautiful refliection of light onto my wall. I see that as art. It doesn’t have to be a huge display of beauty infront of the world to see, art is all around us if we just open our eyes and heart to see it. Read More>>

My family heritage was an intricate part of my upbringing and was connected with food, fellowship, and favorable moments and memories. Even greater was the “village” that supported rearing my sister and me to be respectful and hard-working individuals, but also to set and accomplish goals we always set for ourselves. We were fortunate to attend motivating school environments in Memphis City Schools that kept us grounded in education and parents that maintained and reinforced education for its genuine purpose of being life-long learners. Read More>>

It was a different world but because I see myself as a very versatile person and a person for the worker I felt this was my opportunity to be the boss everyone needed. Believe it or not, management work requires just as much organizing and motivational skills as teaching budding minds. Not to mention the great amount of patience and grace dealing with displeased customers. After two businesses closed down I decided to try going back to school and subbing temporarily. Read More>>

From that small step, Skin2Skin Boutique has grown into something I’m incredibly proud of. Read More>>

The Last Monarchs Of Fall

The Last Monarchs of Fall started as a collaboration in the summer of 2023 between songwriters Justin Castro of Jonesboro, AR and Presley Ray McLain of Paragould, AR. During this time, I was a driving instructor for a private driving school in Memphis, TN. I began noticing some students struggling to follow along with the material discussed in the classroom setting. The classroom format was 4 days, 8 hours each day, with 60-75 students in class. This was completely overwhelming, overstimulating, and not conducive to learning or retaining very complex information for driving. I saw a need for a more effective driver training program designed for people who learn differently. Read More>>

Determined to change that narrative, I made it my mission to highlight the beauty and influence of our culture. I wanted to showcase the positive aspects of our stories and educate others on how much we shape the world around us. My goal was simple: to help everyone “see the good” in my community and our creations. What started as creating social media content soon grew into interviewing influential figures and attending uplifting events in the area, amplifying the positivity and impact of Black culture. Read More>>

Some of the struggles I’ve experienced are learning the ins and outs of being a clothing brand. Creating designs and where and how to do that is a challenge within itself. Then taking the brand and aligning it with the music so that they correlate and compliment each other as well. The music has to be great, catchy, and memorable, and the clothing needs to be eye-catching, hip, and stand out. When you have all these different variables amongst all these moving parts, it gets a little complicated at times. Read More>>
