Under the guidance and mentorship of exceptional leaders at RAM, we successfully increased the occupancy of our properties to 90%. As someone who loves to create, I couldn’t just sit with that. So, I decided to make my own scrub. The first step was researching the ingredients in my favorite scrub. That’s when I learned something shocking: the ingredients were actually terrible for my skin. So, I dove deeper into researching better, more nourishing ingredients to use, and started experimenting with the right mix to create a scrub that not only felt luxurious but would last longer because the texture wasn’t runny. How I started modeling? I’ve been told by everyone my whole I should model, I know I didn’t want to be a the ideal, standard runway model. I love the concept of art, so I knew the type of shoots I wanted to create would be fun or inspire someone to do. I took a course, there is a photographer in Memphis, directedbyskin, she offered modeling courses. I believe the course was a month or two long and she helped with the typical things but the most important advice she gave was to always have confidence. That is the biggest lesson I’ve learned and used consistently while creating. Read more>>

For the past 15 years, I have embraced the rewarding yet challenging journey of entrepreneurship as a co-owner of multiple ventures, including a home health care agency, a floral shop, and a retail business. Balancing the demands of running these businesses with the responsibilities of being a devoted wife and mother has shaped my perspective on what it truly means to be an entrepreneur. Read more>>

I was a quiet and reserved kid but this was the thing that I felt could allow me the capacity to have people stop what they’re doing and listen to me. I fell in love with the possibility of spoken words painting pictures, telling stories, and getting points across. I began my journey through hip-hop pursuing those possibilities and a couple of decades later I still find passion, inspiration, and magic in it. Read more>>

I’ve always enjoyed media! Growing up, I considered myself to be the next Khadijah James of Living Single and living in New York and working for a publication. However, life isn’t an NBC sitcom and after getting my degree in journalism in the middle of covid, the traditional path just wasn’t it. After working in the communications and start-up industry, I decided to pick up a camera and be a tourist in my city. Living that “big city life” is possible in Memphis, you must be a pioneer and venture out into the unknown. I have a small following but I just love using my camera and capturing what’s going on. Being a digital storyteller is my way of self-expression! Read more>>

The road has not been smooth. The learning curve of the trade of carpet cleaning and other cleaning services, while maintaining a full time job and being present for my family, brings many long days wearing many different hats. The switching of roles can be exhausting and some time distracting but worth all of the rewards of building something. Read more>>

I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit, but I quickly realized that success isn’t just about making money it’s about keeping it. I started my journey navigating the complexities of tax planning for my own ventures, and along the way, I saw how many business owners, especially small and growing ones, were at a disadvantage simply because they didn’t know the rules of the game. That’s what drives me. I built my tax consulting business to help level the playing field, ensuring entrepreneurs can keep more of what they earn and strategically grow their wealth. Whether it’s real estate investors, small business owners, or those just starting out, my goal is to equip them with the knowledge and strategies to make the tax code work for them, not against them. At Wanderlust Wax Bar I offer full body waxing, specializing in Brazilian waxes, that would be the most popular service by far. I use a hard film wax which makes the services less painful and quicker. I also recently started offering facials which I have been loving. For the facial services I’ve been using two amazing professional Korean skincare brands, Isov and StoryDerm, that I personally use and love. I also use a few products from the well known line Skinscript. Read more>>

I was born and raised in Chicago, where my journey in ministry and music began at the age of 8, singing in my local church choir. By the time I was 13, I joined The Soul Children of Chicago, which opened incredible doors for me to travel, minister, and even represent America during a time of war, sponsored by Mayor Rahm Emanuel during his tenure in Chicago. Those formative years shaped my passion for both music and ministry. Read more>>
